YMOB 2025-2026 Season Auditions
Auditions for the Young Musicians of Baltimore Youth Orchestra 2025-2026 Season will be held live and via video submission. Violinists, violists, cellists, and double bass players ages 12-18 are invited to audition. Live auditions will be held on June 15th and August 24th at Grace United Methodist Church, or online by video submission (submission deadline June 12th, 2025 at 11:59pm). Audition Requirements: If you are unsure whether you meet the required repertoire levels, please submit the form below with details on your current repertoire and we will get back to you!
1st Violin: A three octave scale of your choice, and a prepared piece (minimum repertoire level ASTA Grade 6/7 or Haydn/Mozart Concerti or equivalent.) Students should be prepared to sight read. Typical 1st violin repertoire range: Monti Czardas - Sarasate Zigeunerweisen.
2nd Violin: A two or three octave scale of your choice, and a prepared piece (minimum repertoire level ASTA Grade 4 or Vivaldi Violin Concerto in A minor or Bach Double or equivalent). Students should be prepared to sight read. Typical 2nd violin repertoire range: Vivaldi concerti - Mozart sonatas.
Viola: A two or three octave scale of your choice, and a prepared piece (minimum repertoire level ASTA Grade 4 or Suzuki Book 4 or Telemann Concerto or equivalent). Students should be prepared to sight read.
Cello and Bass: A two or three octave scale of your choice, and a prepared piece (minimum repertoire level of ASTA Grade 4 or Suzuki Book 4 or equivalent). Students should be prepared to sight read.
